Oh Alice, Alice! Who would have said, that you would end up being such a disappointment. The expectation was as fat as Tweedledee and Tweedledum together. Tim Burton leading a world of fantasy was a certain hit. Instead, it turn out to be a movie, that can only be qualified as entertaining.
Nothing blow-minded, not even Mad Hatter, Johnny´s Depp character. The luck of tension makes it quite long. I believe, the script is the main problem. The scenes solve to fast, not leaving time for the emotion to take place. For example, right at the end, everything happens so rapidly and there´s no fear, because when things went ugly, she just killed the beast. The audience can´t think, not even for two seconds, that maybe Alice will lose.
On the other hand, special effects, and the ART are tremendous achievements. Something undeniable, is the power of Burton´s creative brain. Wonderland, is really wonderland, and no other director could do it better in that aspect.
I can only hope, his next film to jump out of the page.
